Bossier City Firefighters Association
Welcome to our website!
Updated On: Aug 22, 2007

On behalf of the Executive Board and the 194 members of the Bossier City Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 1051, I welcome you to our website.

We received our International Association of Fire Fighters charter on April 1, 1950. At that time, firemen in Bossier City worked over 65 hours a week without overtime compensation and received little health benefits. Our Local was formed in order to continually improve firefighter safety, to secure adequate wages and benefits, and to establish just and reasonable working conditions for all our members. Since then our Local has worked to attain a 53 hour work week (R.S. 33:1994), improve wages and benefits, address numerous health and safety concerns, all secured in Federal and/or State law.

Local #1051 is also an affiliate of the Proffessional Fire Fighters Association of Louisiana and the Southern Federation of Professional Firefighters.

We are optimistic that this website will become a complete, comprehensive and expressive communication tool of the future - our future. As development of the site continues, it will grow in its information, its services, and its interactivity. Please take a few moments to scan the contents of this website and refer to it in the future.

Thank You,

Todd Wilson, President IAFF Local #1051
